It's that time of the year...again?

LTME's 1st semi-annual Essential 12 albums.

That's right folks, you heard it here first! LTME is releasing it's much anticipated mid year album breakdown.

The Essential 12 albums of '07 to date will be ranked and reviewed.

I WANT YOUR INPUT!!! Let me know what you think is the best album so far this year (it's been pretty solid, little lacking in Hip-Hop/Rap, but we got enough good stuff to cover).

Note: Chinese Democracy has not officially been released yet, therefore it is disqualified from the rankings.

I'm going with the first thing to pop into my head - "Armchair Apocrypha". Followed by "Boxer". Can't really stop listening to either of these albums while others, "Neon Bible", etc. have fallen in the rotation. cheers, lw

Midlake - "Trials of Van Occupanther" should receive proper recognition, as well.

I've been a big fan of Apples in Stereo's "New Magnetic Wonder." If you haven't already, you need to give it a listen. Kind of poppy, but once you get hooked, you can't stop listening.

Luke- Your favorite record this year is the "The Reminder". Don't be embarrassed to include it just 'cos Feist has color-coordinated background singers. Also, "V. Occupanther" came out in 2006, if I'm not mistaken (which I'm not, I just looked it up; I just used that last clause as a rhetorical device to wrap the sentence up and soften my correction).

As for me, I'll throw in "Hissing Fauna..." (my #1 so far), "Person Pitch", "Wild Mountain Nation", "Boxer", "Night of the Furies", "Moonbabies at the Ballroom" and "Wincing the Night Away" (trust me, listen to it again). I don't have my iPod at work, so I'm sure that I'm leaving something out.

Fair enough, Jejune, but why don't you through in your #1 (yay!) - Sky Blue Sky. Just for kicks, eh? And also, if Madeline Adams had released an album this year I would've selected her.
