Sing Me a Song, Your the Bloggerman

Before I unleash LTME Essential Albums of 2008 (which will look nothing like all of the other lists that come out this time of the year, mine will be in far more interesting order and Coldplay, MGMT and Kings of Leon are not on mine, which already makes mine better!), I'd like to know what songs rocked your world in 2008.

Give feedback and we'll post the readers Guide to the best of 2008 and Noah will provide everyone with a link to download the songs(he doesn't know about this yet).

Here are 12 songs (in no order) that struck me as amazing this year.

I'm sitting at work, so these are hastily chosen off the top of my head:

a. Deerhunter- "Never Stops"
b. M83- "Run Into Flowers" (this is my favorite song of the year)
c. Dept. of Eagles- "No One Does it Like You"
d. T.I. feat. Rihanna - "Live Your Life"
e. Beach House- "Gila"
f. No Age- "Teen Creeps"
g. Vampire Weekend- "M79" (I know that everyone had this record in '07, but it didn't technically come out until '08 and plus this song was overlooked in favor of other songs on that album which weren't nearly as good).
h. Little Joy- "Keep Me in Mind"
i. She & Him- "Change is Hard"
j. Gentleman Jesse and His Men- "You Don't Have To (If You Don't Want To)"
k. Okkervil River- "Our Life is Not a Movie (Or Maybe)"

Sorry Pue, I posted this elsewhere on your blog (still learning about this interweb stuff)

According to my itunes play count (i'm being honest, even if embarassing) the top 10 songs of '08 are:

M79 - Vampire Weekend
Heretic Pride - The Mountain Goats
About to Walk - Throw Me the Statue
Boneless - The Notwist
The Wrong Thing - Darren Hayman and the Secondary Modern
Play Your Part (Pt. 1) - Girl Talk
Viva La Vida - Cold Play (dear lord help me)
Dry Lips - Lightspeed Champion
The last two I'm picking at will:
L.E.S. Artistes - Santogold
Ghosts Under Rocks - Ra Ra Riot

The album of the year would have to go to Fleet Foxes. They've got too many good influences to be denied.
